Abstract

This one-year prospective study examined 250 HIV-positive subjects at the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital. The research aims to determine the prevalence of Hepatitis B (HBV) and Hepatitis C (HCV) co-infections, which are known to accelerate the progression of HIV to AIDS-defining illnesses. The study also investigates the associated risk factors for these co-infections within the local population.
