Author Guidelines

Manuscript Preparation

All manuscripts must conform to these guidelines.

Title Page

Include: concise title; authors full names and affiliations; corresponding author address, email, phone; running title (max 50 characters).

Abstract

Each article must include an abstract of not more than 250 words. The abstract should give the rationale for the study, describe the methods, present the significant results, and state succinctly the interpretation of the data. Follow the abstract with up to four keywords that may be used for indexing.

Manuscript Structure

  1. Introduction
  2. Methods
  3. Results
  4. Discussion
  5. Conclusion
  6. Acknowledgements
  7. References

References

Use Vancouver citation style. Number serially in text as superscripts. List all authors if six or fewer; for seven or more add et al.

Example: Onuminya JE et al. Traditional bone setter gangrene. Int Orthop. 1999;23:111-112.

Figures and Tables

Figures: min 300 dpi TIFF/EPS/PDF, numbered in order of appearance with legends. Tables: numbered in order of citation, title above and footnotes for abbreviations.

Units

Use SI units throughout.

Manuscript Format

The typed manuscript should be double-spaced with liberal margins on good-quality A4 paper. Font size must be not smaller than 12pt; standard fonts are preferred (e.g. Times New Roman, Arial, Calibri, or Modern). Pages should be numbered and arranged in the following order: title page, abstract, keywords, text, acknowledgements, references. Legends and tables should be placed with the text cited as much as possible.

Peer Review

Manuscripts are evaluated by at least two expert reviewers assigned by the editors. Provisional or final acceptance is based on originality, scientific content, and topical balance. The corresponding author will receive galley proofs; corrections should be restricted to typographical errors and returned within two weeks. After acceptance, manuscripts are generally published within six months.

Ethics

Include IRB/REC approval and informed consent statement. See Ethics and Policies.
